April 2007 - Kara performed and played harp in the staged reading of PINOCHLE, a play set in 1950s Kansas.  This drama about a real-life family that helped doctors determine a genetic predisposition to cancer has much humor and music. Kara performed a 15 minute pre-show of bluegrass gospel music (also singing a lullabye and the hymn "What Wondrous Love Is This"), and played incidental transition music throughout the performance when she was not on stage.
Kara has been performing on her lever harp at several other events, including a benefit for The Deacon's lunch at FPCH - to raise money for the programs that help the homeless and needy of the local community.

Kara continues to write and publish film reviews in a private agency newsletter, these and more can be found publicly on IMDB, Amazon.com, and Netflix.  Many say how much they enjoy her strong writing voice, eye for women's issues and art, and her tart turn of phrase.

July '04 I did a photo shoot with photographer Ed Gerson at the beautiful historic Clariton Hotel Morgan in Morgantown West Virginia.

I have worked with many photographers over the years, and I can not recommend Ed Gerson highly enough! I think these photos are lovely. Most have required no retouching. It was a big project, and his photos exceeded the vision we had in mind. THANK YOU, ED! The Gerson Studio in Morgantown, West Virginia 304-599-2311

As Lucy (right) in The Madness of Esme & Shaz

PAST PERFORMANCES:
2003 - In THE MADNESS OF ESME & SHAZ I played a pretentious social worker with a heart of gold. I also played a surly civil servant who wanted to be in a punk band. I had only 3 minutes to change character, and even many actors who saw the show did not realize I was the same actress in both roles!

I completed the lead in two short films in 2004:
PARA LAX - I played a woman rushing to the airport when everything goes against her.
CARA LOST - Italian Director ANGELA LANDINI cast me as an overweight landlady whose only real relationship is with food.  This required filming in a fat suit in the mid-day sun on the HOTTEST days of an ealry heat wave - 102 degrees.  It was easy to look haggard!  It included a fantasy sequence of me dancing around a park like THAT GIRL in technicolor.
DELICIOUS LOVE - I also did 5 voices for a short film by Manuel Malle (nephew of Louis Malle).
